I still remember the many nights I stayed up late watching Creature Feature on a tiny black-and-white TV in my bedroom, the glow illuminating my face as Vincent Price’s voice sent delicious shivers down my spine. That feeling—of discovering something magical through a screen—never quite leaves you.

These videos are my time capsules—some from my own collection, others discovered in late-night internet rabbit holes or shared by kindred spirits who understand what it means to preserve these fragments of our lives. You’ll find my own YouTube uploads here alongside other gems that stopped me in my tracks. Each one carries a story, a feeling, a moment that deserves to be remembered—not just for what was happening on screen, but for who we were when we first encountered them.

Future Shock – 1972

I 1st came across the book “Future Shock” in Grammar School. I borrowed it from the Secaucus Library in the center of town. Let’s just say it prepared me for the future. Tin foil hat and ‘woo woo’ were locked and loaded into my consciousness.

About the blog

I spent decades chasing the raw honesty in Cassavetes films and the defiant energy of post-punk, believing the movements that shaped my youth would deliver us from corporate Amerika. The greatest rebellion turned out to be questioning everything those movements taught me to believe. Join me as I connect the dots between art that promised truth, the music that soundtracked our resistance, and the gut-wrenching realization that the counterculture got packaged and sold back to us with a price tag.
