About

Welcome to AngryHippie.info!

Hey there—glad you wandered in. I’m Generation Jones—hands still dusty from vinyl crates, still catching whiffs of old paperback glue, still finding concert stubs in jacket pockets from shows I barely remember attending. This is my corner of the internet where I share more than just opinions—I share evidence, memories, relics, and the stories that refuse to stay buried.

I started out Reagan Republican in 1980, drifted through the Democratic Party in the ’90s, and landed somewhere else entirely after 2016 when everything I thought I knew about left and right got scrambled. But I’m not here only to rant. I’m here to investigate. To question. To sift through headlines and histories like Mae Brussell, Dorothy Kilgallen, Thomas Sowell—collecting the pieces others missed, asking the questions that got buried, unafraid of going down rabbit holes that lead somewhere real.

Here’s what you’ll find here:

Music that carved its mark in every chord—from psychedelic rock of the ’60s, to glam, punk, goth, shoegaze—sounds born from vinyl warmth, from crowds sweating under stage lights, from underground tape-trading networks that connected us before the internet ever could.

Movies, books, magazines worn from being read—scribbled in, passed around, pages soft from turning—artifacts of a life lived in snapshots of film stock, print ink, hand-cut edges. The stuff that mattered before algorithms decided what we should see.

Investigative takes—digging into today’s culture, politics, and power with tools sharpened by old-school reporters: tracing sources, revisiting long-buried stories, remembering what’s been forgotten while everyone else chases the next breaking news cycle.

Personal collection & memories—I’ll show you pieces from my shelves: the records, the pulp magazines, the local zines, the reels, the scratch covers. Each scratch tells where it’s been, each torn corner marks a moment someone cared enough to handle it. This is archaeology of the recent past, told through the things we kept.

I post links from my YouTube channel and other social accounts. Sometimes I lay into a political rant (that’s the “angry” part). Other times I drift back to nights of cassette mixtapes, vintage cameras, foggy streets, drive-in flicks, magazine smell—things that shaped me and keep pulling me back to when the world felt more tactile, more real.

This place is about the full journey—peace signs and Reagan pins, CBGB to Rainbow Bar & Grill, tattoo ink to bookstore dust, poster corners peeling, spine cracks, record covers fading in sunlight. I’ve looked across the political fence, sometimes from both sides. I believe truth isn’t owned by any side; it’s earned, discovered, told by people willing to dig deeper than the surface.

Whether you’re here to agree, disagree, dig into history, or just sit awhile and listen—welcome aboard. My dog Lula and I are here, gathering relics and ripping open truths that matter. Let’s make some noise, soft or loud.

One thing: just so you know, I’m an Amazon Associate. If you buy something through one of my Amazon links, I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Helps me and Lula keep this analog flame alive. Thanks for your support.

About the blog

I spent decades chasing the raw honesty in Cassavetes films and the defiant energy of post-punk, believing the movements that shaped my youth would deliver us from corporate Amerika. The greatest rebellion turned out to be questioning everything those movements taught me to believe. Join me as I connect the dots between art that promised truth, the music that soundtracked our resistance, and the gut-wrenching realization that the counterculture got packaged and sold back to us with a price tag.
