The Angry Hippie’s Comics Back For Round 2!

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Well the 2nd Edition of The Angry Hippie’s Comics has begun! I couldn’t wait any longer, so I’ve launched the first set of the new series. I’ve always been a bit on the impatient side, but I think I’ve waited long enough to bring them out and get the next edition started. The new comics offer up a look at more election coverage, and McCain building his cabinet. They are below and on the comics page! Enjoy…

Something personal to say…

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

I was gone this past week, and as a result I’ve had to postpone the gender interview for now. It’s still coming, but Trey is in Germany right now, so I have to wait for his return. I had to put things off, because I had a death in the family, and I had to make the journey back to Tennessee for the funeral. It was truly more than I was prepared for, and proved to be a very hard week. But I really can’t get in to that right now.

So I will just say, sorry for further delays in the gender interview, and I promise that it will be coming. Also, I will end here with a poem I finished last night, in memory of my grandmother.

Tears fell as dawn broke
Mourning dew drew upon faces.
A sorrowful day coldly awoke
Pausing in death’s embraces.
We lay to rest her body
But her love, it still goes on.
Filling us in this dark time
Allowing us to be strong.

Tears fell as the day moved
Silently trespassing boldly.
Stealing hours all day through
Holding us in our grief coldly.
We lay to rest her body
But her courage persists.
She taught it to us all
Leaving us this precious gift.

A tear for every moment.
A tear for every touch.
A tear for each and every way
She gave our lives so much!

Tears fell as the sun set
More light struck from this day,
Grief slouching towards regret
Echoing all it stole away.
We lay to rest her body
But her compassion remains.
It has been instilled within us,
And that will never change.

A tear for every moment.
A tear for every word.
A tear for how her affections
Were felt, shown and heard!

Tears fell in the dark of night
Never easing the pain inflicted.
Sentiments sound merely trite,
Down among the conflicted.
We lay to rest her body
But her memory goes on.
Proving she’ll be here with us
And never truly be gone.

A tear for every moment.
A tear for every laugh.
A tear for time taken for granted
That we can never now get back!

Tears fell as dawn woke,
Mourning dew drew upon faces.
The day after our hearts broke
We find her here in so many places!

More On The Banner Front!

Monday, September 8th, 2008

So with the new address and redesign, a few of the banners I had made were no longer accurate, since they had the old address on them. And I decided then that this front needed a fresh assault as well, so along with reworking some of the existing banners, I have added a few new ones to the bunch.

Hope you like the new additions, and the changes to some of the others. As always feel free to use any of them you’d like to link to the site, and you can see them all on the banner page.
